Where are you From? Big Sandy, Mt (yes, Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam is from here…and so is the state senator)
When did you start working at Huhn Family Dental? I was a dental assistant for one year and started working as a hygienist in June 2012.
Why did you choose your career? I love picking at things and I love teeth! I was inspired by my classmate’s mom who was an RDH. In second grade she came to our class to teach us how to brush and she brought disclosing tablets (you know, the pink tablets) and that was very intriguing to me. My teeth were so pink, I was a horrible brusher when I was little. Ever since then, I was inspired to become an RDH. Oh the irony.
Any other dreams? Well, I always tell my patients I have the best of both worlds. My plan A was to be a country music singer and my Plan B was to be a registered dental hygienist. I’m fortunate enough that my boss supports me in my dreams and this is why my operatory is known as the Karaoke room! Yes, most likely I will sing to you throughout the entire appointment whether you like my singing or not. I find that it helps relax people.
What do you love about your job? I love our patients, I take my job very personally and I love getting to know our patients on a personal level. I also love educating patients. I also love seeing kids, as we all know they are so unpredictable and some of the things they say just crack me up!
Fun Facts: I used to be a massage therapist, I go home every summer to help my dad farm, I enjoy running 5k and half marathons, I like hunting for dinosaur fossils, I love rocks (including diamonds) and will frequently comment on ladies diamonds when they are in my chair.
Family: I have a husband, no kids, unless I can count my cute yorkie Louie. I have numerous nieces and nephews that I love spending time with and they call me “Nae Nae”.
Credentials: Registered Dental Hygienist since 2012.

Nicole Van Auken, RDH, BSDH, CDA
When did you start working at Huhn Family Dental? I started working here in June 2013.
Why did you chose your career? I started my freshman year as a business major, which quickly switched to physchology, then in my second semester during my english class I wrote a research paper on Dental Hygiene and knew that it was a career I wanted to pursue. It allows me to help people and be a health care provider without compromising time with my family.
Any other dreams? I would love to own my own busniess one day, maybe a gym or a health and fitness shop.
What do you love about your job? I love my patients! Getting to know them and helping them is the highlight of my day. I love the staff here too, we have so much fun!
Fun Facts: I grew up in Alaska and worked on my dad's commercial fishing boat during the summers (which makes any other job seem like cake!).
Family: My family still lives in Alaska and I get to visit them pretty often. My husband and I are newlyweds and I have a wonderful stepson.
Credentials: Registered Dental Hygienist since 2013. Bachelor's of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, 2014. Certified Dental Assistant, 2010.

Kathy Bennyhoff, DA

When did you start working at Huhn Family Dental? Between Dr Bailey and Dr. Huhn I have worked here 44 years. I started working for Dr. Bailey in 1970. I was in my last quarter of dental assisting school and he wanted to hire me.
Why did you chose your career? I always wanted to be a dental assistant. My mom wanted me to try college so I would have that experience. I went to MSU for one quarter, quit and started the dental assisting school. So instead of going to other dental offices during that last quarter of school I just stayed at Dr. Bailey's. After working here for 23 years I left and went to work for the orthopedic surgeons doing transcription. I was only gone for one year before Dr. Bailey asked if I wanted to come back and I missed seeing all of our patients so of course I wanted to come back.
What do you love about your job? The patients that I have met and watched grow up. Also watching some three generations become patients over the years. And of course the people I work with
Family: I have a husband, Doug, three sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.
Credentials: Radiation Health and Safety
